Constantinos Kittis, senior counsel

Constantinos Kittis commands more than 45 years of wide and diverse experience in the private and the public sector in Cyprus with extensive involvement in various projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern European countries.

His professional career includes service as Cabinet Minister in two very important government portfolios, and as Chairman of the Board of two significant Quasi-Government Organisations (Cyprus Tourism Board and Human Resource Development Authority).

His clients hire him for his innovative and creative approach to problem solving and broad experience in tactical execution of business planning, and his ability to engage productively in handling complex legislative information and financial and public affairs issues as well as outreach and positioning with the media.

Between 1997 and 2003, Mr. Kittis served as Chairman of the European Movement, Cyprus Council (EMC), a Brussels-based think tank with national Councils in 31 countries in Europe. When he stepped down in 2003, he was elected Life Honorary Chairman of the EMC.

Currently, Constantinos Kittis is chairman of the board of directors of a public company listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange engaged in life Insurance. Until 31 January 2005 he also served as the chairman of the board of a public investment group listed on the CSE.

He is a member of the Central Council of the Cyprus Red Cross Society. In the past he has chaired a number of associations with social, cultural and sports activities.

Mr. Kittis has been selected by the EC Representation in Cyprus and has been appointed by the DG ECFIN to be a member of the Euro Team to help with the campaign for the conversion of local currencies to the Euro in the 10 new member states.

Other appointments include membership of the executive committee of the Cyprus Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEV) from which he resigned in October 2004 to undertake the chairmanship of the newly formed CyAD (Cyprus Association of Directors) voicing the views  of Company Directors on Company Law, Corporate Governance, business ethics and related issues.
